Life (more correctly Work) has been super super busy over the last few weeks (and over the next few weeks too : ( )! So just haven't had the energy and time to unwind myself on the www... and hence my previous article on Spent (which was already a while back too)!!!
Anyway back in Feb., I read this Gizmodo article one day. If you haven't read / seen the video yet, I highly recommend it because it's just such an amazement!!! As the article said..."it's the cloest you'll ever get to Light Speed"!!! @.@ (Now I would really love to visit Washington D.C.!)
Tunnel with 40,000 LEDs Is the Closest You'll Ever Get to Light Speed
Enjoy! : )

The Ultimate Dream Home Theatre
This article was featured on a common regular site that I read a while ago (which I forgot which one I was looking at...probably gizmodo!?) ! But I think I really need to add it to my blog, as I consider myself a lover of music and at times can be picky in sound and music quality.
So perhaps one day (in the near future) I might get something like this (wait I'll get something BETTER than this as we are talking about the future after all! : P hehe).
Meanwhile....we can all just dream on!!! : )
Jeremy Kipnis Amazing $6,000,000 Home Theater
P.S. - On a side note, actually NO I wouldn't pay so much money to create such an extravagance home theatre. I will just invest in something that fits my home with near top-notch sound quality and I'll be happy! : P
P.P.S. - I remember I was once told by my good friends...I'll get this for my next b'day! hehehe Yes time to go to bed again, drifting off into the far far away land....heheheh

2 Pieces of News on the wonderful world of computing!!!
To be honest, even though I am a software developer, I have to say I am still kind of ignorant about the history and the background to the industry. But I am trying to expand my knowledge (esp now that I'm working in the industry) hehe reading more news about the web, technology and the computing world.
In particular I came across 2 piece of news articles this week which definitely deserve to be mentioned in my blog!!!
News #1: Web inventor gets Queen's honour
In particular being a web developer how can I NOT KNOW about the person who invented the wonderful world of WWW!!!! : O (Otherwise I wouldn't even have a job right now!! hehe) Yeah...I'm ashamed of myself!!! ><" Admittedly thanks to Sir Tim Berners-Lee for inventing the web....yeah I was attracted by the 'dot com' hype during the 90s....and hence eventually studied the programming in varsity and working now as a web developer!!! So congratulations to Sir Tim Berners-Lee for receiving the Order of Merit!!! Yeah he deserves it!!!!! : ) See the CNN Article: Web inventor gets Queen's honour
News #2: 1 Billion PCs in use by end of 2008
So by 2008, the population of PCs in the world will reach a record of 1 billion!!! Although it has taken 27 years to reach 1 billion, but it is predicted that it will only take 5 years to reach the next billion!!!!! "Ging ah"!!! See the article 1 Billion PCs in use by end of 2008.

Making Hardwares Look Natural
One day at work again (back in the month of March), I happened to stumble upon the following article in New York times:
haha I reckon it's definitely very innovative indeed...but I doubt I would want one as I love the modernised feel of our computers, just as it is! : P
"How to Soften the Edges of Technology"It was indeed an interesting article as it talks about companies out there that are trying to make our Home PC and IT peripherals looking more natural, less modern and less cube looking.

Redesiging the Mobile Phone Layout
One day at work I read this article which was introduced by an article from my slashdot feed (if you haven't read it yet):
Mobile phone layout
(Source from this page)

It argues that typing text messages is less awkward this way and you can basically just let you thumb do the 'walking' and your palm will be holding on to the body of the mobile more 'stably' and 'safely'.
My Thoughts:
haha first of all marks go for the person for 'redesigning' the mobile to make it more ergonomic. But ahah wow....it's really not 'redesigning' at all, is it!? And they are actually filing a patent for it!!! : O
But then who am I to talk about creativity but I do appreciate their thoughts for the users of the mobile! haha really I would never thought that the mobile can be much more comfortable to use by holding it 'up-side-down'!!! This kinds of opened up my mind a bit! haha May be we should all try to use our mobile up-side-down just to help them to test their to-be patented design! ahah : P
p.s. - I reckon I'll just feel weird using it up-side-down...as I've gotten use to our conventional mobile! Oh.....and I just thought of why the LCD is placed at the top of our screen...because from UI design...people read from top-to-bottom ah ma!!!! : P (hehe the good old HCI!)

"The conventional mobile phone design has the keypad positioned below the LCD display screen. This orientation provides the user a clear view of the screen while a text message is being typed by using the thumb of the hand holding the mobile."
